DANA ROSE

CONTEMPORARY ARTIST & TUTOR

NEW ZEALAND FIGURATIVE/WILDLIFE/LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS & DRAWINGS

This popular contemporary artist skilfully renders realistic images of New Zealand birds, people & landscapes in imaginary compositions to beautifully express the mystery & importance of the interdependence of all life. Her unique paintings are sought after by a wide variety of collectors both locally & internationally.

Dana works in series which invariably have important environmental themes - interconnection (between landscapes - humans - animals), evolution/transformation, the mystery & beauty of our surroundings & life.

Dana says: "Perhaps my main characteristic is a life-long passion for learning - about humanity, creatures & their landscapes - seeking understanding, making connections, blissed out on metaphor, lyrical language, intriguing imagery. A consequence is my deep need to put graphite to paper, paint to canvas & create imaginary compositions using mainly New Zealand motifs: a practice that enchants & enriches my life."

Dana Rose is represented by Central Art Gallery, Queenstown and The Coolstore, Mapua.
